So I have a little tiny baby plant growing at the base of my large plant and it's only a year old. It hasn't produced a fruit or anything yet. Is something wrong or is this normal? It looks like it's coming from where the roots are maybe, I Like at the very base of the pineapple in the dirt.
Very informative video. Thanks for taking your time and knowledge to educate us.
Great video 🍌👍
Where can we buy your cherry trees ? How do we prevent the nematodes?😊
Oh wow😊
My black Surinam cherry that I’ve had for 2 and half years finally fruited this year for the first time and it already has 14 fruits growing
Thanks since Portugal
Sir how i collect this ?
I have a bigger one.
Hi great vid! Can you send me a blue Java plug plant to the uk? Thanks Paul
I have a Hawaiian white pineapple with its first pineapple but it has five suckers underneath it I'm going to plant four of them and leave one good idea or not
I love your video. Supper informative. Im so excited to have this plant. I also live in Florida. I will eventually try to get an amorphophallus T.😊
Start with A. paeoniifolius. They're the easiest to grow here.
Hi Randy. So out of all the bananas that you grow, which is the most flavorful? I just bought one (Blue Java) today. How well do they grow in pots, and what size pot should I transplant it to? I was also wondering what months do they flower and harvest?
The best tatsing banana that I've ever grown is Dwarf Namwa. Tiny fruits, but SO delicious. ABB bananas like blue java get rather large. They are not the best choices for container growing bananas. The pot size depends on the size and age of the plant you have. Eventually it will need a rather large container if you want fruit. I'd say 20 gallons minimum. I've never actually gotten any edible fruit from any of my container specimens, personally, but getting my container specimens to fruit is never my goal, either. Unfortunately, bananas do not have a season. They bloom whenever they feel ready to. Harvest is aproximately four months after blooming.
How do I know if my banana tree is an ice cream banana or the other type? Is the ice cream tree typically taller? My tree is only about 6 feet tall
There are literally thousands of banana cultivars, but you are probably referring to namwa. You have to get your stock from a trusted source. If it is a namwa instead of the true blue java/ice cream, then you will still have delicious bananas. More delicious in my opinion. Either way you win, Cheers
Great video! Thank you! I have to wait longer for mine to be plump. They are thin now.
The most kind and honest person of all the internet! I appriciete from Italy!
Wow thanks for that! Cheers
This kind of red foetida are more rare, the common wild specie produce an edible sweet tasty fruit
Great video! I just wish the audio was better. Nonetheless I am grateful! Thank you!
was thinking about possibly trying to grow one of these here in wisconsin, seems easy enough to pot and unpot it but not all that sure about the smell the flower makes xD
The smell is pretty bad, but they only bloom once per year, the really pungent smell only lasts one day, and the flower only lasts three days. Mostly you'll just have a cool looking plant.
What growing zone are you in?
9b Tampa Fl
Excellent advice 🇯🇲 💯
I decided to grow a pineapple a couple months back but I did not do any research, I had it in a small pot and I transferred it over today. It has a good root system but it has very little leaves. I had it in just with just outside soil. I added actual garden soil and a larger pot. I trimmed off the brown leaves, thanks for the information 😁
Have you ever had a small pineapple start to sprout flowers?
Yes. It will usually result in a smaller than ideal pineapple. It will still be delicious though.
Thank you, that was very informative. I have just been sticking the tops of my pineapples into a pot. They have been growing, but there has been no fruit. So I'm going to try your suggestions.
Incredible banana, where do I buy the seed??
There is no such thing for seeds for any banana cultiver, unfortunately. You need a sucker or a tissue culture clone. I have these now. I only ship in the USA
I live in the USA, could you sell me some plants?
@@fernandobenitez7003 Sure. They're up on my website now. buyraretropicalplants.com/product/truly-tiny-banana/
@sheikyerbouti8I think they ran out of plants
Very helpful, thanks!
What pot depth you recommend for this. Is it supposed to be more wide or more deep. Thanks
They will eventually need a minimum of a fifteen gallon pot. Bigger than that is better.
Really cool! Thanks for sharing!
What state are you in? Can this be done in WI?
I'm in Tampa Florida. It is possible, but you will need to grow it in a pot in the brightest window, in Winter.
Thanks! My daughter is obsessed with pineapples. She is the one who found this video and shared it with me. Great info!!!
Good work. I am reposting this on my blog, Randy. Much appreciated.
Thanks David. You've been an awesome friend.
Mine are so tall we struggle to cut them down. It’s crazy
I have 2 mango trees i am from india and i am not satisfied with my 7 years old trees first time little fruiting.. but the major problem is my mango trees are planted 10 inches far from a waterbody
I appreciate your comments at the end of your video & i hope you continue to flourish just like your garden too
Have you tried airlayering this tree?
How long does it take to fruit from seed?
Hi I'm not seeing any seeds for your exotic fruits for sale on your website.
Unfortunately, I don't sell seeds, only live plants.
@@Sheikyerbouti8 ok thanks
Is there a guaranteed way to grow a flower? I have grown hundreds in my fam but no flowers yet. I am not an expert in Yam anyway!
Feed them properly, also for A. paeoniifolius, don't let the larger tuber get crowded out by the many smaller ones that grow around it. I've never had any species I've grown, fail to bloom, eventually, but it can take time. Good luck!
Actually very informative and extremely relevant to me as I too am in the "Can i grow bananas in FL" situation. Thank you.
I can't seem to get my pineapple crowns to grow. They all die and since watching your video it seems I am giving them to much sun. Am I right? This is the first time I am seeing your videos.
It's important to start with really healthy crowns. Once it has roots and is growing, they like full sun, but before they root, I keep them in the shade.
Thank you banana guru! Im growing an ice cream banana in FL 9a. Its about 2ft currently, what timeframe am I looking at before the first fruit? And I know you talked about fertilizer, but would 8-10-8 or 10-10-10 work or no?
Thank you for your information
You're so welcome!
Wow I’m just staring at that giant monstera at the beginning of the video! What a beauty 😍
It's much larger now. Monstera is one of my favorite fruits
Smudging (Smoke) technique is the best and natural way to induce or force your mango tree to bloom.
Thank you so much for your instructions on how to propagate pineapple. They're good, clear, detailed and helpful 👌.
Thank you for this detailed video
All living beings are sentient because they can grow, reproduce, getting old, diseased and eventually die. Animals and plants can grow due to the present of the soul/living entity/living force (symptom of life/consciousness). When the last out-breath is materialise, we call it "dead" i.e the soul has left the body. This world is moving with all the activities is due to the present of the living entity ( the soul/consciousness). It is the soul that animate all our movements and activities - walking, talking, eating, sleeping, drawing.... Therefore majority of the faiths condemned killing or act of violence as these acts are against laws of nature/God's law. Thou shall not kill as in Christianity; Do not kill ss in the Buddhism first precept. Each living creature has a specific length of life, so if that life has been taken away unnecessary, the "Soul" will have to transmigrate into the womb of the mother through the semen of a father to complete the years/days in THAT same type of body to complete the remaining years/days in which HE/IT is entitled to. The "SOUL" and NOT the "MIND" is the symptom of life/consciousness. Many medical personalities have revealed these ..... #Near Death Experience -NDE #Dr Bruce Greyson NDE #Dr Pim Van Lommel NDE #Dr Eben Alexander NDE When the "Soul" was out of his physical body, he was conscious of what was going on around his Unconscious Physical Body. When the individual soul enter into the womb of a mother through the semen of a father, we call BIRTH. The embryo/seedings(plant) grows moment to moment due to the present of the living force (soul). Each individual atomic soul is unique. The soul is spiritual unlike the physical body. The soul cannot be killed by fire, heat, any types of weapon, cut into pieces, drown in water, lethal injection, hanging..... By understanding this, we understand everything we have read or heard better. In the material world when ever there is an action/work/activity there is a counter-action/reaction/consequence. This is nature law of cause and effect. Great man always follow this law. Anyone who like great literatures (with moral values and understanding our human condition/struggling) written by great writers.... #Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) #Leo Tolstoy @fiction beast #Leo Tolstoy @neuralsurfer Hope these will shape us into a better human beings.
J I live in Pembroke Pines FL, loose to Ftl. I started with 2 white JXe pineapple plants. They're multiplied into several babies but after 3 years, I've not gotten any fruit. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. They were in lots and I just transferred them into the ground. (Just got everything cleared) Now I have 4 plants around 1.5 ft tall and the rest are babies. All are in the ground now and a d amazingly I did a pretty good job planting them like you said. How can I send you a picture of my garden? 🤷🏻♀️
Awesome video super informative i just bought 2 ice cream banana keiki and I'm planting them along with around 15 other varieties of trees and i watched a video on every strain i got and this is the best video i watched so far on one of my plants. Mahalo
Thanks. You have more different cultivars than I do! Good luck amigo. I wish you many naners.
So planting rusty nails dont do anything for your plants?
I'm sure that they get something from it, but mostly the nails simply oxidize into rust whith is not biologically active.
What time of the year do they bloom?
Here in Tampa they bloom toward the end of summer or early fall
